Kara attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis where she obtained both her M.D. and her masters in Biology and Biomedical Sciences. She subsequently trained in psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital and has been in private practice for multiple years treating depression, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, ADHD, substance use disorders, bipolar disorder, and complex trauma-related conditions.
She now works in private practice and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital. She is an expert in anxiety disorders, love addiction, and issues specific to the LGBTQ+ community. Kara employs modalities which include CBT/DBT oriented therapy, humanistic practices, and traditional psychoanalytic techniques.
Prospective patients can text Dr. Gulewicz at this number (732-786-4260) and should mention in the text that they are interested in ketamine assisted psychotherapy (as I only currently have room for new patients for that service, not general psychiatry at this point). The treatment can/is done remotely but also they would need to be residents of New York State since I cannot prescribe a controlled substance a cross state lines.
