We all have those days, or even weeks, where you just need to treat yourself. Whether it’s a bad work week or drama, we all need a vacation to the Bahamas every once in a while. Unfortunately, most of the time (unless your Beyonce herself) your budget doesn’t allow for an impromptu plane flight to an island destination. So here are 20 ways you can treat yourself like the queen you are for under $20.
- Pick Up Your Favorite Fast Food
Whether it’s McDonalds or In N Out Burger we all have a fast food that we love to indulge in. Treat yourself to your favorite joint and don’t forget to order dessert!
- Have A Lush Night
We all love to love Lush, no matter how overpriced it may be. Treat yourself to one of their bath bombs and a face mask. Not only will your skin thank you, but the bubble bath will relax your body and mind. Add a cheap bottle of wine and you’ll be feeling like a million bucks.
- Get A Manicure (Or Do Your Own)
Something as simple as having your nails done can make you feel a thousand times better. Head to your local pharmacy and buy your own nail polish or even go a step further and get them professionally done. Don’t be afraid to vent a little to your nail technician.
- Bake Something Sweet
It can be your favorite cake recipe or one your just want to try out. We all know that calories don’t count when you bake it yourself 😉

Having a really tough week at work? Treat yourself to your favorite latte before the day starts. Trust us, it’ll put a little pep into your step and only costs a few bucks.
- Grab Coffee With A Friend
There’s a healing power in having a nice conversation with a friend over a cup of coffee or lunch. Text that friend you haven’t seen in months and catch up over a cup of joe.
- Have A Netflix Night
Grab a comfy blanket, your favorite snack, and your remote. It’s time to have a Netflix night! Turn off your phone and turn on your favorite movie or show, we all need to disconnect sometimes.
- Go (Window) Shopping
Head to the mall and just walk around. Grab one of those ridiculously overpriced smoothies and explore your favorite stores. You don’t need to buy anything, just the act of visiting the mall can be healing.
- Buy Yourself Ice Cream
Treat yourself to a cone with sprinkles because you’re a winner. Or just a carton of Ben and Jerry’s, nobody needs to know that you ate the whole thing.
Treat your skin. Buy a nice moisturizer and moisturize your entire body. Not only will your skin thank you, you’ll feel a little bit better.
- Take A Nap
Having a really long week at work? Let yourself take a nap. Don’t set an alarm and just let your body rest. Your body and work will thank you. You might even be a more productive afterward.
- Grab Yourself A Coloring Book and Some Markers
Its clinically proven that coloring helps reduce stress. Pick up a coloring book and some markers and let yourself be a kid for a while.
Turn off your phone, computer, TV, anything that is contributing to your stress. Try to spend an hour device free.
- Buy Yourself A Book
Treat yourself to that book you’ve been eyeing or just one that looks interesting at the time. Who knows? Maybe that book will lead to your next big idea.
Have you been dying to try out a DIY on Pinterest, DO IT! Seriously, crafting can be some of the best therapy. Turn on your favorite show or music and let yourself spend a couple hours making something. Not only will you be insanely proud of your creation but you will also feel better.
- Take A Walk
Whether it’s just for a few minutes or a few hours, getting some fresh air can help you clear your head after a hard day or week.
- Visit A Museum
Treat yourself to a day at the museum.
- Explore Your City/Town
We often forget just how cool our towns and cities are. Spend a day exploring your neighborhood you might be surprised at what you find.
- Buy A New Lipstick
Or highlighter. Visit your local cosmetic store and buy yourself that eyeliner/lipstick/highlighter you’ve been absolutely dying to try. Never underestimate the way a new lipstick can make you feel.
Sometimes the best form of self-care is just to let it all out. Let yourself cry for awhile. You’ll feel so much better afterward.
